I have a belly that looks like a road map but double nephrectomy was the worst surgery I endured. I'm sure Pam will look better in a few days.
thanks for letting us know what's happening.

I should hear something more from her husband tonight. I am happy to hear this much. I"ll keep you all posted.
love,
Norma..
Lots of love,
Norma...
I was in the ICU for 4 days (sounds like about the same as Pam, since she had the surgery on May 17). I was then in a regular room for a few more days before I went home. So I think I was in for about 7 or 8 days after my surgery. Yup, Rush Medical Center has computers for patient use in the hallway and I was up and typing away as soon as possible, LOL! When I was at Northwetserm they did not have compters for patients. They allowed laptop use but I do'nt have a laptop so I wasn't able to update so quickly!
All my best to Pam!!
It appears that Pam is not doing well at all, She had a terrible surgury and has actually stopped breathing, they had to call in another surgeon. To his knowledge, what I wrote before from one of her friends that called the hospital, is not true at all. She has not been out of bed at all, let alone to be sitting in a chair. I can't remember everything that he said, but she s in critical condition and they are very worried. I feel sick because Pam is a wonderful person, she has just had a terrible childhood and somehow couldn't get beyond it all. I've been crying for an hour and knew that I had to tell you all of what is happening. Her prognosis at this time is very bad.
Please all of you, please pray for Pam. I don't know what else to say, my heart is broken as I let her into it as I do all of you. I tried to help her but somehow, I couldn't. Please remember her in your prayers..
I am sick with grief.
Much love for all of you,
Norma..
please everyone, nephrectomy is not always the best solution for pain. it is major surgery and not to be taken lightly. it is certainly not the way to go about achieving a slim waist.
having said that, nephrectomy has helped many people, including me, because it stopped the infections that were threatening my health and my transplant.
Pam, you will remain in my prayers.
Norma, in no way is any of this on you. we all wish things will turn around but having befriended Pam does not make you responsible.
She sat with Pam in ICU today, Pam is unresponsive to anything, has not eaten anything or drank anything, she has not been out of bed. She is still in critical condition. She has had every test known to mankind done, but they show nothing, no stroke, nothing. She can't answer a question, nothing. I don't know what to say other than the fact that she was very frail when she went into this and it's my opinion that it's shouldn't have been done, but thats just my opinion and I am certainly not a doctor. She was in horrid pain, she couldn't live with it. She has had several surguries done to relieve the pain but they only lasted a month or so. "DeRoofing" I'am not sure, but it didn't work for very long. Come on you guys, lets pray for her. She is only 52 yrs. old with a 15 yr. old son, she needs all the help we can give her. Lets start a prayer chain, I've seen it work before, lets do it now for her ~
All my love,
Norma..
I don't want to make any of this about me because I want to concentrate on Pam and what she needs. With that said, I am feeling terrible guilt about my pep talks saying that I think she'd do well etc etc. I tried very hard not to paint too rosy of a portrait while still believeing that she would do well after surgery. I was not aware of her state of health going into the surgery other than her terrible pain and her anxiety about the procedure.
Norma, thnan you for being there with her and for her. I hope that hearing your voice and your words of support will help lift her up.
Just feeling terrible about all of this...
