the lesson in this is that transplant is a treatment, not a cure, and is not to be taken lightly. those who feel like, so what, I'll just get a transplant and don't care for their kidneys before that need to think again.

Norma, how old is your nephew. I have to say, 4 months post transplant and going back to work... must be young. Honestly, I really don't think I could go to work and I am 2 1/2 years post transplant. But I am an old fart... heh.

You know, he probably didn't get it from others... hard to say, but according to the CDC, between 50% and 80% of all adults in the USA are infected. So, a good chance that his transplant had the antibodies already. Both my donor and I had them...
