Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is a progressive, genetic disorder of the kidneys. It occurs in humans and other organisms. PKD is characterised by the presence of multiple cysts (polycystic) in both kidneys. The disease can also damage the liver, pancreas and rarely the heart and brain.

Hi everyone :)

I've been feeling pretty good lately and want to try and keep active because even though I have to take afternoon naps it helps me feel better to be doing something.

Also, I did gain a little weight that I would like to go away...only about 10 lbs...which I blame mostly on the fact that I was eating pretty badly.

Now I'm back in gear and wondered if anyone knew of any exercises besides walking that I could do especially to exercise the tummy, hips and thigh area.

I can't bend or physically exert myself too much due to enlarged cysts but any suggestions I will take because I can find a way to do them where it's comfortable for me usually.

Well...since this post I did really well for a week and then started to get really bad pain and fatigue :/ I don't feel I overdid it....it's so frustrating...I used to be such an energetic person and now I can be laid up just by going on a simple walk.

One day at a time...and every day is a new day so I just won't worry too much about it and not put too much pressure on myself.

I think that's the best way I can handle it.

Just do what you can, when you can Jenn. This is supposed to make you feel better! Don't try to push yourself if you're already in pain. Just go back to your planned exercise when you're feeling better. Remember to ramp up gradually, and not do too much too soon. I try to walk everyday, but adjust the pace if it's a tough day. If you're taking more exercise, you must rest when you need to.
