Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
As for hobbies right now I watch too much tv and movies lol. I love comedies and actions for movies. Tv shows I like the finder, csi ny, in Plain sight and some others. I like reading books. I used to be a big fan of Christopher Pike in high school. I have some self help books but I have a hard time gettin into them lol. I love to camp, canoe, hiking trails and being in nature.

It is obvious when I am unhappy or being controlled because my guitar playing goes to the wayside.
I did ballet when I was very young, and I have recently taken it back up. I do video lessons from the Vaganova School of Ballet in Russia. I'm the same level as the 3rd grade girls LOL.
I have also started making jewelry. I get so many compliments on it and I have managed to sell some of it. My stbx HATED that I was starting my own jewelry business. Makes me want to do it that much more even though he stole several pieces and $100 worth of glass pendants when he left the house.
I also enjoy watching movies and The Young and the Restless.
I do yoga, meditation, and exercise.
Of course I love the internet.
Gardening and houseplants
Cooking
Bible study, learning Hebrew
I've been hang-gliding! The scariest part was jumping off the cliff. After that it was great.
Things I would like to do:
Horseback Riding - been once and was scared to death of falling off
Going on a Missions trip to Uruguay or other Spanish speaking country (I grew up with missionaries from Uruguay and I speak fluent Spanish)
Go on my trip to Florida (Orlando one week, Daytona the next) with my kids and NO MAN TO TELL US WHAT TO DO OR HOW TO DO IT!
I wanted to go on the annual camping trip with the domestic violence program, but it was too much of a short notice for me this year. Next year for sure though.
Good to see everyone getting back into their own "thing"
Hoping to get back into getting into everything soon.
I have been a Cub Scout/Explorer Leader (in UK) over 30 years and I am soooo grateful for the love and support I have from my "Scout Family"
In adding this comment I DO INDEED promise to be nice!
What an amazing group you all are too.. :)
Yes, after all those years, the last 5 have been about rediscovering who I am. I'm about to take a class in the first level of Reiki. I meditate almost daily. Life is rich and full, without abuse in it.
My dream is to take my kids travelling. I would like to take them on the night train to Venice or Amsterdam and spend a week. Also would like to go on a cruise from Seattle to Alaska!
watching sports. . . . women's basketball,
tennis, figure skating. I also figure skate.
I like to build or fix just about anything, including houses, cars, appliances - especially old things.
I like to paint and make sculptures out of junk metal.
I garden.
I like to watch almost all sports, but play very few.
I like to hike and walk and science and nature, but those are more interests than hobbies.
I like to cook.
I write poetry, but not much lately.
I have a big interest in history, and enjoy visiting historic sites and watching historical documentaries.
I'm going to make a list. Not a "bucket list" but a "things to do with my kids now that we are free" list. I'll call mine the "Bird List" as in free like a bird ; )
here's the start:
Ice Skating
Swimming
Roller Skating
Nature Walks
Camping
Marshmallow roast in back yard (doesn't require camping equipment)
Cyber Bowling
Discovery House Museum
The Jump Room (it's a whole facility full of those inflatables playgrounds)
I love this thread! It's really given me some ideas :D
I am interested in anything paranormal. I have a lot of equipment, and have gone on tons of investigations to haunted houses.
I also, like Kevin, love history, and that goes hand in hand with the paranormal stuff.
Love to read...and write, and am in the process of finishing a novel (guess what-it's about ghosts and other spooky, paranormal things.
Love music...I play the fiddle (very badly)..love cajun/celtic/bluegrass fiddle stuff...
gardening...art...crafty things...
there are so many cool things to do in this world!!!
life is WAY too short to be in an abusive relationship!!
fungiculture (light)
gardening
art
writing
and my interests are:
mythology
genetics (a little)
anthropology--who isn't?
prehistoric life
Jungian dream interpretation
and some shamanism and pagan beliefs
and most recently, body language.
Great idea for a thread! It's empowering to know one's self.

a bit of sewing
