Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
"A leader for his team-mates."
"A positive influence."
The accolades continue
to pour in for the murderer.
Someone filmed in front of the
stadium talked about a report of the
couple having had an argument
before the shooting.
SSSSOOOOOOO???????????????
So. . . . that explains it?
Of course he had to shoot and kill her.
After all, she was arguing with him!
Who doesn't shoot their partner,
when their partner argues with them?
Well, okay then. That's that. 'Nuff said.
Whatta guy.
"A caring, giving individual.
Gave so much to kids at
the kids clinics."
Yeah. Whatta guy.
Ugh. I know nothing of the story or the guy himself (being on the other side of the world) and have zero interest in looking it up, based on what I've read here. But yes, it certainly does make my blood boil a little that the media could be making more of the unfortunate and tragic loss of his career and his gifts to the game, than of the life he stole and the baby he left motherless.
I often hear that the media doesn't reflect society as well as they claim to do. I really hope, when I read things like this, that those stories are right.
"Jovan was a LOVING person."
This loving, caring, family-oriented,
child-loving, outstanding leader
murdered the mother of his child.
Guess they (the media) are all so wrapped up the in the goodness and wonder of famous people that they forget that adderall and drugs like it are already being seriously abused by the less famous.
And of course they are now saying that the nfl player and his gf were fighting of late. Of course they say it so casually that no one could possibly consider that 'fighting' might be covering up the real [abusive] situation.
After reading some of the disgusting comments on cnn, I am appalled & sickened at the number of comments about the 2nd amendment & how he could have killed her w/his bare hands, as if she wasn't even a living breathing human being, not to mention they seem to have no concern or empathy for the motherless baby.
When will this insanity stop? Who is going to finally stand up to the media and tell them to STOP portraying sports & and other famous figures as heroes who can do no wrong?
The very first time I heard anything as shocking and eye opening as this was back in the days when they let OJ off for killing his wife. I watched that trial (my first and last) from beginning to end. There was lots of DNA--NO DOUBT. Since then, I've been more aware and I feel sickened as it is getting worse, and Yes, all they seem to care about is the "STAR"
I wish it would get better, but it is getting worse. It really makes me so sad. These stars can get away with anything, and the stupid fans support whatever they have done.
When people stop buying newspapers that feature slanted, yellow jouranlism. When people stop paying for cable that supports news shows that are based on biased sensationslism. And when people stop assuming that just because someone is famous does not make them a hero. And finally when enough people grow a pair and write to the media that features such stories and drop their subsriptions to either the paper, magazine or cable that supports such stories. And when enough people protest by writing to their legislators about how the laws tend to be biased or at the very least lenient towards sports players.Notice i did not say sports stars.
I have not read the story either and have no desire to do so either. My avoidance of the news can be looked at two ways, of either keeping my head in the sand or of refusing to support the sources that present stories of murder as if they are entertainment or allow such biased stories to be printed or go to air. I guess I'm guilty of both.
I believe that the media's habit of playing the same story over and over with the main focus being on the criminal or murderer, gives the perp the attention they desire.
Let's find a way to bring the attention to her and the other victims of dv like her and NOT give the evil perps any more of our time or attention.
I think it stinks.
