Strangers on the internet, and sometimes certain lifestyle groups, who offer help, for those of us who can sometimes be in a vulnerable position, can cause extreme destruction to your life.. Beware.. been there, done this, I was in major depression, and bad circumstances, and very vunerable, and I made some really bad choices.. for which I am still reaping...

You should report this person for abuse and they will be kicked off DS.

I reported a woman who claimed she was a professional, but I saw no proof of that and the wording of the message she put up was obviously a con and was after money.

Be very wary and report such people.

i thought that the majority of people on this site would just be ordinary people offering help and ordinary people asking for help. I would question anyone professing to be a professional and giving advice, as usually they would charge you $$$ for advice,,,,,,and why would they want to work for free..

I wonder if this could be reported to DS as 'abuse'... I mean, I know that we typically think of abuse here differently, but as it relates to DS and their mission, representing oneself as a professional and offering services one is not qualified to offer is a form of abusing the site at large, and all its members, potentially.

As a user, I wouldn't expect anyone here to guarantee confidentiality, and I would be suspect of someone who says they are a professional. A true professional does this to get paid. And when your clientel needs you, you do your work in the office, you don't take your work home as a hobby. I would be suspicious.

This is a public place, and while our anonymity is relatively secure, I wouldn't put anything out there with the expectation of it being confidential unless I saw proof of licensure on the wall of the office, ya know?!?

when i checked it again, the person had deleted all their friends, hugs, journal entries etc. not the behavior of a caring social worker, so i did report it. the account has since been closed.
