Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.

I've been following with joy, the triumph of the
Egyptian people, ousting an entrenched dictator
(though, while not being called that, maintaining
power for thirty years), in an effort to arrive at
a govenment now closer to a democracy.
With the exception of thefts and destruction
inside the antiquities museum, where ancient
objects were stolen or destroyed, things seemed
to be going mostly well.
Then, a couple days ago, a female reporter for
CBS's 60 Minutes, was attacked. Here's a news
report:
CBS News said in a statement Ms (Lara) Logan was covering the celebrations for CBS's '60 Minutes' program on 11 February when she and her team were surrounded by 'a mob of more than 200 people whipped into a frenzy'.
'In the crush of the mob, she was separated from her crew. She was surrounded and suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers,' CBS said.

Ms. Logan (who is a visibly attractive woman), was
just doing her job. What a HORRIBLE thing for
her. What a shame upon the Egyptian men
who'd just stood and fought for the noble cause
of self-determination, to then turn their intense
satisfaction at having brought down a corrupt
regime, upon an innocent foreign woman, who
was there, helping report their successful efforts.
Let's all, please, send healing thoughts to Ms. Logan
as she tries to recover and heal from this unspeakable
attack.
