Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
Does anyone know of a group on here specific to religious emotional abuse?
I don't know of any abuse group that's specific to religious abuse here.
Abuse is abuse is abuse. Doesn't matter if it's religious or not. I think you will find this group very caring & supportive.
Abusers are in every profession, every income level and seem to be in occupations where they are in control of others, and some of those places are often churches or cults or groups that function as a cult. it is easier for an abuser to manipulate when others are depending on them for guidance, advice or even leadership. Remember that no human being is God and no humanbeing has the right to tell you how or what you should believe. And no one has the right to cross your boundaries and justify it in the name of God or a certain belief system. if what is happening to you feels wrong, then it is wrong and indicates that your boiundaries are being crossed.
You have the right to end any and all relationships that require you to sacrifice your integrity and well being, physical or emotional or that require you to allow someone to cross your boundaries and hurt you.
