Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
If your foot was resting in a campfire, it would hurt a lot. Cutting, drinking, drugs, acting out, blaming others - these are like taking medicines to stop your foot from hurting. Meanwhile, though - it's still sitting in the campfire. You're going to need more and more unless you actually deal with the problem first.
When I was at home, the pain was incredible. But the fear of change was equally incredible. Being caught between the two was devastating to me. But those are the only real two choices - either accept the situation (which your situation doesn't sound like that's a great idea) or change it. Meanwhile, it takes incredible courage to speak out when you're afraid of the results.
You asked what life - yours. You feel that the situation is out of control. It's really a shame that you must make these kind of choices at such a young age but the choices are there. What can you do about it? What will you do about it?

My mother moved out when I was 2 and I never lived with her again. She would come around or promise to, but that's all I ever felt was broken promises from her. I did not see the battles she was fighting, being in physically abusive relationships, enduring her life after being raped by her father, walking around empty looking for something she felt was missing. I took it so personal, it's hard not to. A couple years ago she had a stroke and I think it woke her up to a lot. Now we talk every week and she has offered to help with my kids. My point is you NEVER know what the next day holds and even if you have to take it one day at a time, you should do that for yourself.
