Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
I wish you peace and speedy recovery. It sounds like you have a good start.
Thanks for sharing.

Shame on anyone who uses the internet for evil!
Who said anything about love!?!?!
Be careful SMRK, keep reading how we all left abusive situations and learn from this. Just be safe that's all.
You do have good instincts and exposing this scumbag will help many more who may fall prey to this idiot.
Hugs
Linda
just my thought
This regarding abusers!
If a guy seems to be really interested and amazing supportive but also wants something from you when he knows your hurting or are healing in someways then he's looking for easy prey!
I'm glad you've managed to change your life So you can post it on here!
Personally on DS if a guy sends me a friends request I ignore it, this is where I come to heal on DS, it's my own little healing get away and I don't want anyone to spoil it for me!
For someone on this site to take advantage of you is reprehensible. I'm sorry that you had to endure that on top of everything else. Sadly this happens more than we realize and I believe that many don't talk about it. It's very courageous of you to share your experience so that others might avoid the same pain.
Big huge hugs to you!!!!
Kazb, I agree with you, I am here to heal too. If you look at my profile page, I have only 5 or 6 friends and I never date, here there or anywhere. So my time is for me to offer and get support.
Thanks,
Linda
This tipped me off that there were roving people on DS looking at new members to see what they could find or how far they could go.
Yeah be careful people...Not everyone here is here for the reasons most are....
I posted a link to an article bu child advocate Andrew Vachs who warns about internet stuff or becoming what he calls cyber-chump...
I'be one and from now on i'm going to be more careful to not be one....I'm sorry it happened to you too...its very painful...I mean for some of this is the only place to connect with other who may understand.
As we do not have therapists or family or support of any kind....
Be careful and aware people.
And I have heard alot about predators on this site. Mainly with the sexual abuse victims. They get off from it. It's awful.
Not to make light of your sadness, but I have a story where a guy failed at this that was funny. Due to the subject this forum is very sad, I hope this brings cheer and laughter.
Several years ago Flylady (helps you get your house clean) had a moderated chat once a month, hosted by another website. Myself and many others noticed that the rest of the month this chat room was not used at all. We took it over. (This chat room is now gone, and perhaps the website is too.)
We were all women. Mostly we encouraged the cleaning of our houses and supported each other. We laughed, shared our sadness, became a close group. But still, every day we would be in there setting our timers for 15 minutes, running off to do housework and coming back and saying good job!
We never had a person come in who was not from one of the flylady chats or refered by another person. It just wasn't advertised anywhere and that was not what the website was about. It was called something like the special event chat room.
Well, except one. It was a guy. He comes waltzing in and tries to hit on us. We all started laughing. No really. Lols all over the place. Then I start explaining what we're about. Everyone chimes in. He tries to hit on us again. We laugh at him. But we were nice people. So what do we do? We offer to let him go on a 15 with us. He can do housewor and come back and tell what he did.
That really threw him off. He is asking if we're serious and if that is really what we did. We not only say yes, but encourage him to do laundry or dishes in his home while we do in ours.
He never came back.
It gets better.
So after he leaves we're talking about how in the world he found the chat room and why would he think it was a place to pick up women.
None of us bothered with the rest of the website. We did know that it was not a social networking website. We also knew in about once a year when they used the chat room for one of their events (flylady stopped using it after a few months) it was intensely boring and none of us sat through it.
Then I look up at the name of the site and start laughing, hard. It was called "Women Together".
We concluded he did not look at the boring website at all. He just looked at the title.
I for one have never been so delighted to disappoint a man. I laughed until I cried. Perhaps I'm just easily amused.....
