Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
Thought I would start a thread to try to uplift anyone who is feeling a bit off or down. Sometimes it helps to think of something positive in our life or something we are feeling grateful for to help to clear the fog of depression or negative emotions if only for a while.
I would like to start.
I am grateful to have a job. To be able to use walk and work and support myself. I may not have a lot but what I do have is sufficient to feed and clothe myself and sometimes help those I care about.
I am grateful to have my rescue kitty who has shown me so much love and helped me to get through Christmas. I am also grateful to still have my older horse who I feel fortunate to still have after I have been through abusive relationships, been moved around and left to fend for myself, he has been my steady rock, My Rocket, aka Rock.
I am grateful that I once had a pretty happy relationship with my ex husband who never struck me or verbally abused me, did not cheat on me and I still have the support and love of his parents who I can call still to this day and they love me like they are still my "parents."
I am grateful to all of you on here for your support, friendship and understanding. It really does mean so much to just know someone understands and cares.

Well, he had to crawl under the house to fix a hole in the ventilation pipes. Found out the water heater has been leaking for a good 2 years. He needed a new one. He didn't have the money. I didn't have the money.
A friend told me about a co. that had monthly drawings for water heaters, etc. I entered my dad. Then I thought about it and didn't like the odds. So, I wrote them a letter about my dad and his current situation. They just installed his new water heater this morning, free of charge and didn't just replace it, but got him a better one! Awesome company...E,.R. Plumbing Services!!
That's given me my smile for the day!
I'm grateful I had my family this Christmas. I felt down because I thought my ex and I would spend it together but obviously not the case. My family of five (Mom, brother, sister, brother in law and me) piled into my sister's small car to drive up to Rockland county to see our extended family. I get a little annoyed about the trip but I really enjoyed seeing everyone under one roof. We all ate dinner as a big family and it was nice to get out of the city for a day.
Today I am grateful for being able to travel to the southwest to see my mom, younger brother and his four beautiful boys. I am also grateful to have good health and be able to exercise and ride my pretty horse, Hailey....who, btw, has been with me through two bad relationships. I am grateful for the discernment I have learned as a result of my most recent relationship with a bully. I am very thankful that I was able to get out it early on before things really turned bad. I am grateful for the few but very loyal friendships. And, of course, I am thankful for the wonderful women and men on this site that have provided me support and guidance.
And finally I am grateful to enjoy an upcoming New Year with my new found wisdom and understanding.
