Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
The only power your
parents have over you, (now
that you are an adult. . . . . . )
is the power you
allow them.
Get a job that
enables you to
live somewhere
else ---- and there
is nothing they
can say or do
about your choices.
That aside though, from everything I've read in your posts it definitely sounds like your parents are abusive and creating an unhealthy, toxic home environment for you. Have you considered contacting social services to have them step in and help straiten things out (or at least help you to get out of your situation)?
I realize that there would be the fear of how your parents would react, but it is possible to use that to your advantage. Just get yourself (or get your boyfriend to purchase it and give it to you discreetly if need be) a small/discreet audio recording device that you can hide on yourself and secretly start recording with as needed. Keep it with you and use it to document any instances where your parents are abusive in any way, and save these recordings. After you have documented several instances of their abusive behavior you should have evidence to back up your story when you contact social services. Then just continue documenting evidence to turn over to social services if your parents continue being abusive (and especially if they start becoming more abusive).
your father doesn't
seem to always
tell the truth.
You introduced yourself here
with images of your home life
being a place where your
baby sister was being
fed alcohol and the
children were riding
in a car driven by
a woman under
the influence
(your mother,
right?).
Would foster care
be worse than that?
I'm unclear, sorry.
