Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
I have heard many people say stress can kill you and from my personal experience, I totally believe it.
I know this is a horrible time for you, but please try and avoid any more stress.
I wish you the best!!!

And yes, stress can bring on all sorts of physical aches and pains. I lost almost 20 pounds during the ordeal with the ex, I was constantly tense so I was pretty sore as well. My "monthly" wasn't regular either.
Key is self-care. Do something to help you relax each day. I found baths with some scented salts helped. It gets easier, i promise!

Meditation is very helpful in combating stress.
There are many different guided imagery cd's available that focus on stress reduction. You can go to youtube to listen to some for free until you decide if it's helpful for you. I highly recommend www.healthjourneys.com for some wonderful guided imagery cd's. She has a free download which is where I started. All you have to do is sign up for the email newsletter that comes about once a week at most. You can unsubscribe at any time. (BTW, I'm not affiliated w/her in any way, I'm just a happy customer. :-)
Breathe in slowly thru the nose to a count of four.
Breathe out slowly thru the mouth to a count of four.
As you practice this, extend the count of the out breath up to a count of eight.
Taking as few as four deep slow breaths can actually change your mood and relax your body.
Yes, stress can be a killer. I only had depression, but know that all sorts of mental and physical illness starts as stress.
Hugs and hope you find time to relax soon... xx
All I can suggest is to find something relaxing to do for yourself- take a walk, bike ride, read. And drink plenty of water, and do your best to eat well.
There is a powerful connection between the mind and the body. That's why it is so critically important for you to take good care of yourself right now. Because you are under so much stress from the breakup, your body is much more vulnerable to all kinds of bad things.
That's why it's more important than ever for you to eat nutritious food, even if you don't feel hungry, and try to get enough sleep. Take good care of your body and as your heart begins to heal, your body will heal, too.
My other suggestion would be, try to find SOMETHING good about your current situation, anything at all, and try to focus on that. If there is anything that you enjoy doing right now, maybe try doing that. Just hang on and take care of yourself. I hope you feel better, soon.
My body:
I began loosing my hair, I've only just stopped loosing it but as a result my hair is extremely thin at the back on top and bald. (It's called alopecia and can be brought on by stress) as well as that I also developed Psoriasis on my scalp and have only just been able to stop using medicated shampoo for it (which did clear it up but if I stopped and used normal shampoo it would come back)
I've also had terrible back problems for years. Recently I've noticed that I've naturally started holding myself up with confidence (subconsciously) and my back problems (at the top of my back) have gone, literally my posture was the cause and my posture was bad because of the way I held myself due to lack of confidence from the abuse!
I also remember once going through this strange swelling around my eyes. It happened a few times when I was stressed.
My mind:
I had terrible PTSD and felt very down because of this.
Also lost a lot of sleep over the years
My mind and body have both now stablized and it's because I am away from the abuse!
