Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
people, abused or not,
to be dependent on
having others around
to feel okay ---- particularly
on a holiday.
That's why it's so important
to pretty much everyone to
work on building a loving
connection with self, so
whatever the circumstance,
whether it's alone or together
with others, a person feels at
least okay and comfortable
with the moment.
You say there are times
you feel fine when you're
alone, and that's a great
start and suggests that
you have what it takes
to get there, in general.
One thing you might do
is have a plan ready for
times when you're alone
and find yourself sinking.
Have a list of things you
like to do, things that you
know will make you feel
better ready. When you
find yourself heading
downward, pull out the
list and pick the one that
calls to you. If it's a time
when no one else is around
then the things on the list
would be solo activities
that you enjoy. The fact
that you don't have to
come up with something
at a moment when your
energy is low is a key to
why this suggestion has
a better chance of working.
The activity is right there,
waiting for you, reminding
you that there are things
in life you value and that
bring you enjoyment.
I hope with the week
beginning again, you're
beyond the loneliness
that engulfed you
yesterday.
Sending you hugs
and wishes for
healing and
better days
ahead.
Wish you the best
