Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.

I've seen clauses in
divorce papers that
talk about there being
no communication
other than around co-
parenting and even
about the consequences
for parental alienation.
I'd get these kinds of
stipulations added
to the original agreement
with the consequence of
custody being changed
if violated.

for either legal aid or
maybe the local women's
center can connect you
with a lawyer who works
for less than normal rates.

visit your local women's
center? They might be
able to connect you with
low-cost legal services.
have a "coalition" or statewide
agency that runs women's centers
and then the women's centers
provide a variety of services,
among them shelters for
families in danger or in
crisis ----- but the center
is separate from the shelter.
