Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
I am praying for you and this situation.
Know that there is strength and power
within you that you can't even imagine.
Sending you hugs and
prayers for the result
that best serves and
supports you.
And good for you for standing up for yourself.
Hugs to you for better days ahead.
years ago, when my eldest boy was a baby, I worked at this hardware store, run by a bunch of Italian men. they were all grumpy and yelled all the time, which seemed normal to me, since I had a yelling husband at home, but there was this one meek old Italian guy, who was so sweet and helpful and nice, and I loved him, and he started sexually harassing me! brushing his arms past my boobs, or hugging me from behind and trying to grab them!
I never stood up to him, ever. I never told my husband, or a supervisor, or anything. I just tried to hold my arms tightly over my chest, and I was stressed out every single day.
I wish that I had had your strength to stand up to him all of those years ago!
(((((((((((hugs)))))))))))
I was lucky in my 2 sexual harrassment at work issues. Both were in male dominated workplaces. The first, an "incident" happened to be overseen by another even more senior male. He never said anything (he wasn't quite senior enough to rock the boat, I was bottom of the heap), but I did notice that every time the "perpetrator" came near my workspace, this other senior guy just happened to have a reason to be there. Unlike you, babyrena, I didn't have the guts to report it.
The other time, I still didn't report it until the company was breaking apart. And the splinter group were looking to hire me - and him. So I did speak up - I couldn't believe I did, since I desperately needed the job, but I told them that if they hired him, I'd walk. And I meant it. And they hired me and not him.
It CAN work out - and I truly hope it does for you. Nobody deserves abuse of any kind, whether in the workplace, the home, or the queue for a takeaway meal.
I hope it all works out for you.
I am thankful for all the support here and the encouragement that I did the right thing by standing up for myself. As word got around later I found out I wasn't the only one that this has happened to, just no one stood up and talked for themselves. And that he lied to his co worker about why he was sending me home that evening. I was totally amazed at how he tried so hard to cover up his mistake. I haven't seen him since Sunday, but when I was in the same room as him I started sweating, and my heart started to beat a million times over, and I was so nervous as to what he would say, so I left the room and didn't come back until he was gone.
The silly thing is before this I never saw him in the dispatch office, what his point in being in here was not clear to me. I don't know if it was to play a head game on me or what, but I refused to play. I didn't talk to him at all on Sunday, this happened on Saturday. I hope that things will turn around in this department, as we are all a team and should work as one.
