Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
Screw my ex that said the only thing I'll ever amount to is a future suicide victim. I have things to live for. I totally just learned how to do some cool artsy stuff, it worked out way better than I thought it would, and it proves I'm talented when I apply myself.
What cool thing have you done recently? Not everyone can do what you can do. Everyone has a special something. Maybe it will feel nice to brag about ourselves just a little? :D

What you do matters, even if it's not some big,grand gesture, even if no one every appreciates your art, or your talents, or you kindness or your uniqueness. You may just never have the opportunity to see how much-but you can find happiness in knowing this about yourself. Remember that when you feel weak because you are kind!
CONGRATS on the new contract. I agree, you never know when something good is going to come your way. It must feel really good to put your heart into something like a song and get something back for it. Hopefully it will have meaning for others too!
