Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
I left my husband last June (2008) and have been somewhere in between since then. Not living together but still have to "take care of him" because he has no one else and he just had surgery. So, long story short- he's you're typical abuser...
So, here's what's going on- I need his paystubs from June 2008 because I didn't leave until June 4th. Social Security says since I was there with him when I received the check, then I have to provide his proof of income. They tell me this now, 13 months later *pulls out hair in frustration*. I called him and told I needed that information so that our son doesn't lose his SSI payments. Ahhh, but of course... He is such a selfish jerk that he won't make one simple phone call to his former employer and ask them for the paystubs. He lied to me and told me that they won't give them to him. I knew from the past that he didn't actually call, so I called them myself. They told me that they would gladly send them, but that he has to make the request because legally they cannot give me that information. Seems silly to me since I am his spouse, but oh well. I told him that I called them, and he flipped out. Yep. Once again, I am every name in the book. That doesn't bother me though, I know better. What bothers me is that he won't do this ONE little thing to keep our son's SSI payments. He should care, it pays for the rent.
Anyone have any advice on how to deal with this? It's a shame that I'm not a manipulator like he is, otherwise I could just get him to do it. I wish I didn't have to depend on him for this!! UGGG!!
