Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
to this. The first one that
comes to mind for me is
to work on processing
as many of the issues
that can trigger you
as possible. Processing
emotional hot buttons
may be different for
different people. Therapy
of various kinds, including
talking with a counselor
or working with other
kinds of clinical recovery
approaches is how many
of us make progress.
For the record, I don't
think a person has to
be over 30 or have kids
to want to run away
from a troubling
intimate relationship.
Anyway, if you find
yourself triggered in
a situation, my second
suggestion would be
to take a "bathroom
break" and get to a
private place, until
you feel calm and
centered again.
Ultimately, the more
emotional processing
you do on your own,
the less hot buttons
there are laying in
wait to trigger you
unexpectedly.
Sending you hugs
and wishes for
healing and
happiness.
