Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
How does anyone else deal with the immense pain of giving up on abusive family? My ex has a personality disorder. Our therapist wouldn't give me her dx, but only said, "he is dangerous". My children now show varying degrees of physical and mental abuse, lying, manipulation, etc.
I feel so guilty about giving up on them, but after allowing them to abuse me all these years, and going through thrrapy, I am finally getting to the point where I am beginning to care about myself more.
How do you put aside the guilt of not somehow "done better" in keeping your children from turning out like their other parent? How do you live with knowing that they are also hurting your grandchildren? The pain is eating me up inside.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

So voc rehab finally got in touch with me...it took like six months finally. The voc rehab person that they assigned to me is a lawyer and extremely knowledgable on disability law and he seems to know a great deal about how to get people placed in jobs and how to make their resumes pass ATS. I was really surprised at how articulate and energetic he is. I guess my question is how much I...

It's good you have a therapist that is there for you. Maybe you can work something out that you feel comfortable with, like low contact instead of no contact or something in between full cut off. I know how toxic people rarely respect boundaries but you can try create boundaries with them if they will respect that. Write me anytime. I'm know the unique hell of dealing with an abuse family and all of the fallout and pain it causes. Hugs

Bless you. Abuse is designed in its own hell of no design, to keep us feeling guilty of someone else's guilt.
As someone who has been abused, i know there aren't words big enough to bring the needed comfort to fix that thing that can't be humanly fixed.
Bless you as you struggle with grief over the impact on you and people you love and all this undeserved guilt.
And someone who has also lost a precious family member to abuse, bless you as people you love or respect, and even strangers like myself come with advice that is too small to impact all the hurt and grief to you.
Bless you. Keep struggling.
Bless you...
