Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.

There is NOTHING for which
you need to carry guilt,
certainly not in the context
of your parents' relationship.
That's not to say that you're
perfect. But regarding your
parents' marriage, you have
no responsibility nor can
you be accused of ANYTHING
negative.
Just in the above thread
what you've described
regarding things your
father has said and
done (to You), is someone
who has been damaged
and has arrived at parent
unable to do anything
but be in that role
perpetrating DAMAGING
"parenting skills."
What you shared with
your father was precocious.
It was mature far beyond
your years.
That he stomped on your
wise recommendations
clearly illustrates his
serious dysfunction.
My thoughts to You:
You are NOT their
couples therapist.
REMOVE yourself
from the middle of
their interactions.
Don't attempt to support
either of them anymore
(in the context of their
marriage). Simply say
to them, "I'm a child.
There's nothing I can
do for either of you
to help you fix your
marriage."
Take care of YOURSELF.
You are worth every
single act of
SELF-CARE you can
perform for your
well-being, goals
and happiness.
