Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
Physical abuse consists of, but is not limited to, the following:
1. hitting
2. slapping
3. scratching
4. strangling or choking
5. punching
6. pushing or pulling
7. kicking
8. spitting
9. shoving
10. tickling (yes tickling is considered abuse)
11. pinching
12. touching any part of your body with any part of their body or any other object without your permission or against your expressed wishes or if it feels uncomfortable for any reason
13. pulling hair
14. throwing you down or against something
15. biting
16. grabbing any part of you or anything on your person including clothing.
17. threatening with or using a gun, knife, box cutter, bat, mace or other object perceived as a weapon
18. patting or smacking your bottom or anywhere else
19. forcing you to have sex or perform a sexual act (sexual abuse)
20. grabbing your face to make you look at them
21. grabbing you or blocking your way to prevent you from leaving or to force you to go somewhere
22. pinning you to the ground, wall, bed, etc.
23. throwing things (even if they aren't thrown directly at you)
24. punching/hitting walls, etc.
25. driving wrecklessly or doing anything else to scare you or make a point
26. breaking inanimate objects
27. THREATENING physical violence
28. mistreating animals in any way, especially if it's done in front of you to make a point
29. bumping
30. 'accidental' tripping
31. kneeing
32. drowning (holding head under water)
33. forcing you to eat or drink something
34. sleep deprivation
35. burning or freezing
36. withholding food or shelter
37. hiding or withholding medication
38. head butting
39. spanking

In addition to the reckless driving, which I experienced (driving way too fast, one the wrong side, in icy conditions)...
Road rage...When someone is yelling at the other drivers and getting ridiculously upset it seems like they can't possibly be concentrating on driving.
Suddenly reaching over and grabbing or tickling in the middle of driving, causing a loss of attention to the road.
Texting and driving.
Insisting or forcing young and inexperienced drivers get behind the wheel to make them "man up" or "teach them to drive" when they are not ready, unable, or scared.
My husband was always very proud of the fact that he could say he never laid a hand on me. However when we would argue and he was angry at me, he would kick the pets or punch the baby. He wasn't directly hitting me, but he was using physical violence to control and intimidate me.
