Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
in pain.
Doesn't sound like
much of a friend
to me.
A friend would not
be manipulative.
(Manipulation IS
abuse, on nearly
every level.)
First she attacked
you verbally and
then, proving what
a coward she is,
she left the scene,
demonstrating to
you that the last
word would be
hers and you
could eat it.
Presumably you're
at work either to
bring home a salary
and/or because you
like your work.
Whichever it is, and
certainly if it's both,
then go to work and
focus on work and
other people.
When this abusive
co-worker returns
and wants to make
up with you, I'd say
"sure" (as a co-worker),
and then never
relate to her again
as anything other
than a co-worker,
because she has
proven she's clearly
no friend.
If you're really
confused about
who she is, then
do the Clarifying
Index Card exercise,
writing out a card
for every time you've
felt she was manipulative
or offensive. Then
evaluate, based on
her actions toward you,
if she's someone you
care about keeping
in your life.
Sending you hugs
and wishes for
better days at work.
