Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
As many of you know, my ex resurfaced with a vengeance this past week. Despite having blocked his emails and phone number, he still got through.
Thursday was hell. My day started with him texting me (that I didn't recognize) from 6am to 7pm. I would have blocked the number but had my day so fully booked I was out of the house before the first text even arrived.
It was nothing but mind games all day long.
He 'apologized' by saying he was sorry for the way things ended, and that I should be too... He then went on to say he doesn't know why he was 'banished' and that it hurt him.
Um, maybe because he lied about everything, was a narcissistic a-hole and was abusive? Gee, I don't know!
Later that night, my sister was hit by a car while she was out running. My parents were out of state, so it was just me. I didn't sleep for almost 40hrs. The accident left my sister unable to run for the rest of her life. She was training for the Boston Marathon, so not only did she lose her favorite hobby, she lost a part of who she was.... To say she was crushed is the understatement of the year!!
I want so badly to protect her from everything and anything that is bad. I know I cannot, but I am still sad for her. It is hard to explain why it hurts so much... I just wish I could have done more for her!
To have this clown, this a**hole, come waltzing back in my life left me unhinged, and feeling slightly off-my-rocker! I came home (from the hospital) yesterday and found chocolate bunnies on my doorstep. I couldn't control my heartbeat!
One of the things he did during our early days of dating was leave me gifts on my doorstep...
I don't think it was him, as he contacted me later in the day (from yet another number) to wish me a 'Happy Easter' and to tell me that I deserve all the happiness this world has to offer!!! Puke! The nerve of that man!!! Anyhow, I am pretty sure he would have laid claim to the gift, if only as an attempt to guilt trip me. However, I am not sure...
My neighbors sometimes leave me gifts on the holidays, as I live in a pretty tight-knit neighborhood. But then they are left for everybody... I even went around looking at everyone else's doorstep and saw nothing... No chocolate bunnies, no gifts of any kind.
I felt crazy just walking by people's houses scanning their doorsteps!! I felt insane... And then I realized it was because he took away my right to live a life away from him.
I know that even if I changed my number, he would just come to the house. If I avoided him or called the police, it would be just another tactic at another time.
I am sooo angry!!!
Why won't he just go away???

I know you figure he'll find another way, and maybe he will. But at least you are sending a very strong message that it's NOT acceptable and you won't put up with it.
And I'm very sorry about your sister. I will say though, that I suspect some of your feeling nuts was more about sleep deprivation than any actual unhinging - by him or otherwise.
Take good care of yourself - you deserve it.
I am so very sorry about your sister. I wish the best for her and she heals quickly and with not much pain. It sounds pretty major.
I do agree with Livn about documenting and contacting the police.
Do you need Mace or anything like that for your safety?

Livin- I think you are right... A lot of my feeling crazy has more to do with being tired than anything else. It really warps perceptions on rhings. It also made it hard for me to react to him in a clear and appropriate way.
I think what was more triggering for me than anything, was his sneaky way of coming back into my life after being so clearly kicked out. My very first (and only other) abusive relationship was one that nearly resulted in the end of my life. He would wait in bushes for me outside of my work, harass my friends and stalk my parents... And this after he attempted to kill me! Some time ago, he came out of the woodwork again and started harassing my friends and stalking my parents. Eventually thw situation subsided... But when my ex acts like this, it reminds me of the situation that happened previously that almost resulted in my death. I have to realize that I am being given a chance to start all over again, and not let this little weasel have amy power over my life!

Radrm- That is exactly what my sis is going through! I just want to protect her and it is hard knowing that I can't.
