Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
I've had four wonderful years now with a "high risk" partner and couldn't be happier. Nothing has gone wrong despite all of my paranoia that it was going to crash and burn like my last relationship. Even my kids are encouraging us to marry now :)
I hope it brings you much happiness and lots of tenderness.
Good luck Ilene.
I am so very happy for you. I think I would be scared for you, but I am comforted in knowing you knew him and he was important to you, in the past.
I honestly can't express all the joy, I feel for you. I have a feeling this will work out for you.
I absolutely am sending the very best wishes ever and tons of prayers for satisfaction, happiness, and love.
Please take care and keep us posted!!!!

As Gem said, keep us all posted. So happy for you!!!!!! =)
I want to congratulate you on taking a leap of faith. We learn the most from life not from sitting on the sidelines, but participating! As you already know!! :)
You have been a great source of wisdom here, both to me and others. He is one lucky guy!!!
Blessings to both of you!! Woohoo!!!
XOXO
(We'll see if HE thinks
I'm so wise, when I
stand up for myself
at critical moments.

I agree. Life is about
participating. And I've
jumped off the bench
to get back in the game.
(Not leaving the forum.
Still here and growing.)
I very much wish you the best, both of you and have every faith that you can both experience happiness and peacefulness in each others company x
I'm thrilled for you and your new man! I think there was a reason I signed on today, as I had been thinking about posting for the past 2 weeks. I'm so glad that I got to read your post.
You deserve complete happiness!
Hugs, hugs & more hugs!

That's fantastic if you have found a new relationship that makes you happy.. however I like to think that just because we are single that doesn't mean we are sitting on the bench, not in the game or not enjoying a full life. That just hit me funny for some reason.
You're totally right.
I enjoyed most of
my time on my own.
It's just that for me,
however great my
single years are,
there's a part of
me that craves
a partner.
The years on my own
yielded many excellent
satisfactions and fulfillments
for me in my life.
I should have said,
I'm jumping off the
bench to participate
in the game of
relationship. . . .
not that I wasn't
already fully participating
in the tournament of
life.
Single life can be
rich and satisfying.
Now I'm playing
(again), on the court of
intimate connection
and long-term relationship.
