Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
And that is such a good sign that your therapist respected your statement that you aren't ready to discuss childhood trauma.
.... I wanted to share another piece of my personal story, just in terms of therapy being really damn hard. When I first started therapy (this most recent period, which is about 2.5 years now) .... the first couple times I went, I couldn't talk. I swear to God.
I just kept telling her, "it's like there's a monster inside me growling and snarling." And she said, "what does it sound like?" And so I made monster sounds at her for a couple of sessions.
Srsly.
It's funny now, but it's also an example of how one therapist helped one person past one part of the difficulties of healing.
I am so proud of you. I am so very happy you let her get to know you through your journals and poems. You have given her tools she needs so badly to be able to help you!!!!
I am beside myself, I am so happy for you.
