Physical & Emotional Abuse Support Group
Abuse is a general term for the treatment of someone that causes some kind of harm (to the abused person, to the abusers themselves, or to someone else) that is unlawful or wrongful. No one deserves abuse, period. Abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual.
YYYyyyyaaaaayyyyyyyy.
That's your healthy life-force
kicking in.
LISTEN TO IT, Sweetie!
I can never see myself being with another man again and I see sex as dirty and evil now
The worse part of it as you said is that they act like nothing has happened afterwards and accuse you of being too sensitive
mine has wounded me for life saying that to me
I believe we do, with time and the realization that those hurtful words are lies about us, told to us by someone who is incapable of loving or appreciating us.
"Can we ever really love and trust the person who has said them?"
Why should we ever trust the person who repeatedly intentionally hurts us? I see no reason.
"Am I kidding myself thinking that I can ever have a genuine trusting relationship with this person again?"
You can try. I did, repeatedly. It didn't work because they have already proven to us that they aren't trustworthy or genuine.
"Can a heart just be too wounded and damaged to open up and be vulnerable to the person who stuck a knife in it?"
Why would you want to put yourself in that position again? History is a good indicator of what to expect.
The damage will heal and when it does you will learn discernment and the next time you open your heart, it will be to someone who deserves you, respects you and appreciates you.
You CAN heal, but there is no reason to open up and trust him and allow yourself to be vulnerable again, with him. He's proved who and what he is.
