Phobia Support Group
A phobia (from the Greek "fear"), is a strong, persistent fear of situations, objects, activities, or persons. The main symptom of this disorder is the excessive, unreasonable desire to avoid the feared subject. When the fear is beyond one's control, or if the fear is interfering with daily life, then a diagnosis under one of the anxiety disorders can be made.

Hey everyone =)
Ok, this is getting really hard and I just need to vent. I have had emetophobia (fear of throwing up) for about 10 years now. I am a little over 10 weeks pregnant and have been lucky to just get away with being nauseous. Food has always been a struggle for me, because of this. I've been doing good and eating very well. But last night I ended up feeling sick and panicky so I took a xanax right away. If I didn't it would of been much worse. I ended up dry heaving for about 15-20 minutes. Now I'm scared to eat again. TERRIFIED to eat again. I'm hungry, but am in tears when I even look at food now.

How are you doing now? What ever happened that night? I have emetophobia and my husband and I are currently trying to conceive...I'm worried about how I'll handle the morning sickness symptoms and all else. Aaahhhh!!!

Oh sweetheart. I know how you feel I had have the same phobia for 26 years and have a son of 3 years. Please trust me it is very hard but there are so many things you can try, ask your doctors or some anti vomitting pills which you can take whilst pregnant and ginger is great. If you cannot eat try ginger nuts before I get out of bed. You could also try ginger tea etc etc. I managed to get through my pregnancy with no vomitting at all and now my husband wants another one but I am too scared at the moment as my phobia is particularly bad at the present time. If you want any more advice let me have your personal email and I will talk to you privately. Look after yourself X

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
