Phobia Support Group
A phobia (from the Greek "fear"), is a strong, persistent fear of situations, objects, activities, or persons. The main symptom of this disorder is the excessive, unreasonable desire to avoid the feared subject. When the fear is beyond one's control, or if the fear is interfering with daily life, then a diagnosis under one of the anxiety disorders can be made.

I've suffered from an unexplained phobia of death since childhood. It's something that's hard to cope with because we can't avoid it. I've been to counselors, therapists and psychiatrists. I've been on medications but currently I'm not seeing anyone or on any meds. I'd like to find people to talk to who can actually understand. I'm tired of outsiders telling me how to cope when they have no idea what I'm feeling. Anyone out there like me? I could always use more friends to talk to so feel free to friend request me.

Hi there. I suffer from this phobia as well. It is one of a few that I have, I am not sure why I fear death either but all I know is that I could be watching something on tv and bam I can be hit with an overwhelming anxiety when confronted by it. It is something that I believe has gotten progressively worse as I have grown up. I haven't talked to any counslers myself or any meds. Just been trying to deal with it myself but at least I know I am not the only one out there.

I have a huge phobia of it. I can't talk, or think about it with getting a weird feeling washing over me. I just try to go deal with it as much as I can even though it's hard I know God's going to help me get through it.

I suffer from this too. It's hard to find any one to talk to about it. I can't tell my regular friends, that would be a total downer. Some days I get angry and think, "Whatever! I don't care." Other days I obsess and think, I hope I'll be around long enough to become an eccentric old lady. I worry if I have some physical disorder. I think I have many things I want to accomplish. It's the uncertainty factor that gets me.

I have such an intense fear of dieing that i could just slip into an panic attack in two seconds. My uncle died when I was four, and ever since then I've been so afraid. I know exactly how you feel. I honestly haven't gotten a handle on it yet, but I don't think I ever will, but I know that God will help ease the fear.

I use to fear death before I went on my spiritual journey. Now that I am positive there is an after life, I worry more so about how I will die rather than when.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
