Phobia Support Group
A phobia (from the Greek "fear"), is a strong, persistent fear of situations, objects, activities, or persons. The main symptom of this disorder is the excessive, unreasonable desire to avoid the feared subject. When the fear is beyond one's control, or if the fear is interfering with daily life, then a diagnosis under one of the anxiety disorders can be made.
I have heard wonderful things about a lot of the anti depressants. The only way to find out what the best medication for you is to do the whole trial and error thing. But benzo's such as klonopin, ativan and xanax will help you to go out. Thay can be taken as needed and usually work pretty quickly so they are great to take if you are having a panic attack.
I hope you start feeling better soon. Also, you might talk to your dr about an increase on the dose of the prozac, that might help you more too.
