Pet Bereavement Support Group
The loss of a pet or animal to which one has become emotionally bonded can be an intense loss, comparable with the death of a loved one. Whilst there is strong evidence that animals can feel such loss for other animals, this community focuses on human feelings, when an animal is lost, dies or otherwise is departed.
Lily (cat) climbs under the covers with me when she knows it's bedtime.
Judas (cat) likes to paw my shoulder when he wants something. He also sneezes on my hands when he wants petting :)
He also loved to run around on the wood floors and mastered "power-slides" around corners - just turning his body sideways and executing a four-paw slide around the corner and WHOOSH! He's off again! Almost like a rally car.
Other times, if I didn't shut the bathroom door when I had a shower, I'd be in the middle of washing my hair or something and feel something brushing past my leg. I rinse the soap out of my face and look down and there's Max - giving himself a little wash.
There are heaps of other things that got a smile out of me. He was a great Dog!
Summer would take the apples I gave him and chew them up and then spit it out on my hands yuck! but it always made me laugh when I saw his expression after I squiled with discust. And of course after that he would start licking my hands to get the apple off.
He also used to chase me around the barn whenever I had carrots in my pockets...and sometimes just for fun!
I miss him

He also loved to ride in the car. My husband was going to get gas one day and took him along. My husband left Casper in the car (few minutes with windows cracked of course) and ran into the building to pay for the gas. I got a call from my husband saying that Casper had locked him out of the car! My husband had left the keys in the car (very small town) and Casper had stepped on the door lock while looking out the window. He finally got Casper to jump around enough to unlock the door. I miss him terribly.
