Pet Bereavement Support Group
The loss of a pet or animal to which one has become emotionally bonded can be an intense loss, comparable with the death of a loved one. Whilst there is strong evidence that animals can feel such loss for other animals, this community focuses on human feelings, when an animal is lost, dies or otherwise is departed.

My heart goes out to you. All of us here on the Pet Bereavement site knows what you are going through.
It is so hard to let them go but one knows when it is time because of the pain our beloved pets are going through.
Thank you for staying with Daisy until the end because I am sure she was looking at you and she knew how much love and loyalty you gave to her. God Bless You.

We are here for you, to see you through this difficult time.
One thing I've learned over the years about animals is how open they are -- how much they feel compared to us. Our babies knew we loved them, because they could feel it. It's why they trusted us so completely. We all have to hold onto the knowledge that we gave them a kind of happiness and sense of security that can be hard for us to understand, but it was good. I know I had a perfect childhood, and I think my Rupert probably felt a lot like I did as a kid -- safe and loved, living on a good planet, filled with lots of good and fun things.
Only in their case, they don't have the disappointment of growing up and discovering the truth! They are blessed in that way.
I wish all of us could have our babies back! I know it's not possible. But I do know that, someday, I'll have a new baby to love, and I will hold onto him or her even tighter.
It's been three months since Walter passed, and know that the days do get easier. I do not miss him any less, but the sting wears off a bit. I hope you're able to consider carrying on Daisy's legacy and memory with a new pup when the time is right. As for right now, trust that you gave her a beautiful life, and wherever she is, she is grateful and loving and missing you as much as you are her.
Know I'm thinking of you in this time, and know you're not alone.
Yesterday, when I got home from work, as I opened the front door, I heard a ghost bark...the same little happy bark I'd hear each day. I wonder - has anyone else heard that? Or is it just my wishful thinking?
Daisy was just letting you know she is okay and waiting for you at Rainbow Bridge.
