The loss of a pet or animal to which one has become emotionally bonded can be an intense loss, comparable with the death of a loved one. Whilst there is strong evidence that animals can feel such loss for other animals, this community focuses on human feelings, when an animal is lost, dies or otherwise is departed.
So this weekend I put up our Christmas Tree. I didnt want to put up the Christmas tree because in the box of ornaments are all the ones my mother in law got my husband and I from 2008 to 2012 that had Ryan, Steph and Peanut on them. Also, peanut had her own stocking. But, my husband said we had to because otherwise his mom would get upset because she got us a special ornament. Then it snowed and all I could think of was how cold it is in the ground even though I know she isnt there nor could feel it anyway and that my make shift grave marker is covered. Im just not in the spirit this year. Plus her being my Christmas gift in 2007n doesnt help either. We went to a pet store that hand feeds their birds and they had 6 week old baby suns. So gorgeous but Im just not ready and not sure when I am if I want another sun conure.

hi,i also felt like that thinking of clay in the cold ground,i still cant believe his little body is down there but i suppose we have to remember its just their "shell" down there,their spirit is free and they live on in our hearts.dont rush into anything,i also was looking at other furbabies soon after clay died,but i think i was just clutching at anything that might fill the hole left in my heart.i know it wouldnt have been the same.its just going to take time to heal and with christmas coming up,the time you got peanut,its going to be so hard on you.my thoughts are with you and i hope it gets easier for you soon,hugs xx

I can understand that you may not be ready for another pet right now-but you do need to put up your tree and see if there is a way to keep the grave marked even in the snow..that way you won't feel bad about not seeing it.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
