I'm so numb...everything I've tried to sleep has had zero effect. I'm so exhausted! Any tips on sleep?

A stuffed animal is always helpful in holding and keeping near.Perhaps having her photo and her toys etc in your bedroom might help you have her near

I keep two of Ruperts favorite stuffed toys on our bed. When I'm away from my husband, like now, I take them with me and sleep with them!

2 weeks, next to zero sleep, migraine and sick. Crying all the time... Made a dome with mountain slate-like stones to protect the tomb. I can't look at it without wanting to dig it up and hold her little body against me...

I know. I want my Rupert back so badly. It doesnt seem right to have them just gone, and thats it, with no way to get them back.

Yet, thats how it is.

The only thing I have been able to do to move on is think about the fact that 1) we gave him a lovely life, with lots of fun and love and security; 2) we were so lucky to have him, love him, and know him he changed our lives, and we are better for it; and 3) there are other babies out there who deserve that kind of life as well. As soon as I can handle it, I will adopt one, and start down that road again. In fact, I visited some shelters for the first time, so Im getting closer.

I'm glad you're healing and thinking of another furbaby! I know another kind of love will blossom with another little furry-one.
It'll take me a long long time to do so I think. After losing my dad, my partner and my baby I don't think I have any heart left...

The emptiness is almost unbearable. I know all too well how that feels. My dog passed away last week. He had cancer and the tumors were bleeding in his abdomen. Even after knowing this news for a month. It didn't make it any easier to say goodbye. I still have his sister, and it breaks my heart that he is gone and to see her so sad too. He was only 8. I find that coping is not just a day thing, but more hour by hour or minute by minute. I still expect to see his wagging tail at the door and happy barking. I have found some comfort in watching videos that I made of my dogs playing. I've put his pictures everywhere. Sometimes it makes it seem like he isn't so far away. I still don't know how I'm going to manage the holidays without him...It just won't be the same missing a family member.

Oh I'm so sorry Sprite! I totally agree, every mn is hell! I can't look at pics, too painful still... I hope you get some little comfort from your other furbaby, it must be hard to see her sad too! Big hug to you both!
