Pet Bereavement Support Group
The loss of a pet or animal to which one has become emotionally bonded can be an intense loss, comparable with the death of a loved one. Whilst there is strong evidence that animals can feel such loss for other animals, this community focuses on human feelings, when an animal is lost, dies or otherwise is departed.

I had to let my 16.5 year old precious dog go last week. I knew things were changing. I carried her down the stairs, built her a ramp, special diet, etc. But the dreaded day came with seizures and heart failure She was suffering. bad. Friends and neighbors were sympathetic, but I live alone .and see her everywhere. Crying, depressed deep pain. How long I don't know. Some days better then others. So hard. Years go by so quickly. People have their own lives and issues, but I know there's understanding here how difficult it really is. Peace and blessings to all

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

So sorry for your loss! Here we all understand how it feels! Ilost my Moony of 21y in October. Like you, I live alone and it was just too hard! No one came to my rescue... What saved me was to go and adopt a kitten, then a few weeks later a wounded cat - same race as my Moony - appeared in the garden. I haven't found his owner so made him officially mine and both little devils are bringing life again into the desert it had become. I hope you find the same luck!
Big Hug
My thoughts and prayers go out to you during this difficult time.
