The loss of a pet or animal to which one has become emotionally bonded can be an intense loss, comparable with the death of a loved one. Whilst there is strong evidence that animals can feel such loss for other animals, this community focuses on human feelings, when an animal is lost, dies or otherwise is departed.
Hi!
I just had to have my baby girl on June 14th to her final rest. She was 23 years old and she was the absolute sweetest kitty I had ever known. I'm having a very hard time with her being gone from me. She was my whole life. My husband won't even talk to me now. I'm not even sure if we will be staying married because of her passing.
I just miss my little ball of fur. Does it ever get any easier? We lost our other kitty Max in 2015, so she was our last kitty.

My mom had a cat and they had a relationship that sounds like the kind you had with your baby girl!!!!
They were best friends!!! When my mom would take a walk to mail a letter, he'd accompany her!! Wherever she went, he'd tag along!!
One horrible time, she took a trip to England.
When she came home, he gave her the cold shoulder for 2 weeks!!!!
Then finally forgave her!!! They were fast friends again, thank heavens!
They had a special relationship indeed.

It will get easier than it is right now, but I don't know if it will ever get 'easy'.
The last pet we ever had was a dog who lived 15 years. She died 22 year ago and I still miss her. I don't see it getting any easier than it is right now. But the happy memories we have of her make us laugh and bring us joy!! She lives forever in our hearts.
