Keegan heart failure

My heart is breaking, My Keeg was diagnosed with heart failure, hes only 9 he is my gizzies brother who I lost almost 2 years ago, hes on meds to get rid of fluid in his lungs which is working and one for blood pressure, hes eating playing, but I'm so afraid to let him do anything but rest because I am so afraid for something to happen to him, hes the same Keegan but I'm so scared, I'm even looking into all natural remedies, has anyone been thru this ? Do you have some advice? Everyday as I drive home I pray for him to be waiting at the door for me,I cant lose him , all I do is stare at him, watch him sleep, kiss and hold him,I need to let him live, play and I want to help him to do that, I just need some hope and maybe some help to let him play like he wants to without me panicking, if I lost him it would send me over the edge which I'm barely hanging onto as it is

The candlelighting and prayers are still out there. I hate to hear this about your baby, it makes me feel so bad. My friend wanted a pix of your baby to put on the candlelighting, but I didn't' know what to say. I am sorry again, what did the vet say? Gosh, you have been through so much, and I don't know what to say about your baby playing. Exercise is good for the human heart, but I don't know about your baby. I am going to try to google something up on that. I understand your not wanting your baby to suffer or get hurt. Hugs to you

Okay, I bookmarked a site with advice on heart failure for dogs. It says that exercise is good for their heart. If you message me, I will try to tell you how to get to the site. I am not very good with copying, but I will message you with the site. Give a lot of good advice for your baby.

I am so sorry to hear about Keegan. Dealing with health issues can be so stressful. I did have a cat who passed away 12 years ago that had a heart condition. I do remember that it was important to avoid excessive physical activity or excitement, high heat/humidity and avoid high salt (sodium) foods or treats. Also, keep an eye on his breathing as belabored breathing can mean fluids are building up around the heart.

After dealing with animal health issues I can tell you these guys are very smart. They are picking up on your nervousness. Try your best to put up a good show pretending everything is OK. It will help them. Not easy to do but if you are nervous they get nervous. You may want to see if there is any homeopathic vet in your area. I have gone to one where I live and he was a godsend.

Love little Keegan with all your heart. None of us know what tomorrow brings. All the best to you and Keegan during this challenging time.

Lucy I have read alot online and I am walking Keegan, I think he must be in the early stages only because he has stopped coughing , no seizures has never stopped eating and just had 2 quiet days, other than those two he has wanted to play , is excited to go out and walk, I ordered an all natural product online that is for the heart, bought a book all about ingerdiants in dog food and how to make your own, Keeg is on a special diet because of his history with stones, the vet should call me monday and I have a lot of question, I'm trying to be positive, its hard but I try not to cry, thanks so much for the shoulder Lucy with all your going thru, I Love you lucy and thank you so very much, will keep you updated..Bonni
