Pet Bereavement Support Group
The loss of a pet or animal to which one has become emotionally bonded can be an intense loss, comparable with the death of a loved one. Whilst there is strong evidence that animals can feel such loss for other animals, this community focuses on human feelings, when an animal is lost, dies or otherwise is departed.

Ive loved toads for years now. It started one summer when I had a little garden at an apartment, and it attracted toads. Then I had a pet toad that I loved so much, but I lost him. I decided then to just enjoy the toads I see outside rather than trying to keep them as pets.
When I got Rupert, and we would go for walks and see toads, he would nudge them gently with his nose, and then jump back if they jumped. Then hed slowly approach and nudge again. And jump back. I, of course, always have to try to pet them or pick them up, and talk to them. So Rupert knew I loved those little guys.
This evening, I was in the back yard, and I had a handful of little blossoms that had dropped off my sage plant. I took them over to Ruperts grave, which is just a spot in the middle of the yard, and sprinkled the flowers on it, and said hello to him. As I turned to walk away, something caught my eye. I looked back, didnt see anything, and as I turned, again, out of the corner of my eye, I saw something move.
After a few seconds, I went back and sat down for a closer look, and there was the tiniest baby toad barely a centimeter long, and the same color as the dirt. I picked him up so I could move him to one of the safe spots in my yard (I have little areas with toad houses and small, shallow water dishes for them, so that they arent tempted to jump in the pool). After I was holding him, I suddenly thought that maybe just maybe he was a gift from Rupert. A little message of love.
I so hope he was.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I had a little kitten named Buttons. He was like my baby.
It has been 2years now since he died from FIP.,which is an always fatal disease.
I miss him all the time. Sometimes I can sense that he is here.
I did adopt a cat from our humane society, and she is a sweet girl, but Iam still not over my little Buttons Cat.
He was only 14months.
It's been 6 weeks since my Tommy died and I still expect to have him come to bed with me.
I know our pets are happy in heaven but I am sure they miss us too.
I have a dear friend whose dog is having problems now with her liver. Her dog is 14, and I'm so scared for her. I'm being really positive, and encouraging her to do the same, but inside, I'm worried. I know that it will happen eventually, and it's going to be so hard on her.
