Yes, someone understands, and actually many understand that love their fur babies as much as you do :) My last dog had kidney failure and her last two days of life was so hard on me for the first time in around 28 years I would not have another dog (until two years later) and before this I had not gone even one day without a dog in those 28 years. We should had her put to rest two days sooner as I will never forgive myself for those last two days when her yelps were so bad that I could still hear them even after she was gone :( Some people just don't realize how much they feel pain, too! They just don't show it until it's really bad.
My love for dogs had me give in two years later and get another one, a 3 month old puppy that is now 11 years old and I will start crying when I even think about having to face the day when she leaves me but yet hope with all my heart that I out live her because I don't have anyone to take care of her like I do :) It never gets easier and in fact for me has got harder each time but pets need love, good homes with good people that will take good care of them so if only I could know there was someone to take care of them when I pass on then I hope I will continue to give them the special love and care that they give me. The pain of losing our fur babies never goes away but in time it does help us deal with the hurt. So sorry for your loss but so happy he had your love for 14 years.

your furry friend would want you to get up and get involved-you can build him an memorial of perhaps his toys-photos etc-but remember he is watching over you always and PERHAPS sometime you will run across another furry friend who needs your TLC and you will need him as well

Thanks. Right now I still don't ever want another dog. We still have our younger guy but other than him I really don't know if I can do that again. Both of my dogs are rescued. A friend sent me that poem about a dogs last will, the gist of it is that your dog would want you to adopt again. I really don't know if I could ever. My husband keeps saying if we waited it would only have been a week or two before we had to do it but I still can't stand it. I regret doing it and I want that time with him.

I'm so sad today. Just sad. I want to curl up and do nothing. Work is torture. Doing anything is torture.

My beautiful for terrier.Winston died on Jan 17, it is three month and I cry everyday for him. He was like a child to me and my husband. We took him all over with us and had so much fun. I sometimes think I need to see a doctor to talk about how sad I feel. I too wish he could come back but I know he is gone. I also know he was very sick and was in pain, but i really wish he was here.

Oh hon, I am so sorry for your loss n pain! In the past 6 months I just lost 2 of my fur babies. One very recent. It sucks, but we will see them again. I can't cry too much, I try to stay strong for my other two fur kids.

I understand :'( I haven not stopped crying for 7 weeks and am in pain every waking second. Please God help me. I miss my baby.

winsmom,I relate to every word you said. I have my labrador Jeremy since I rescued him in May 2002 from abusive neighbors, and he never left my side. He went everywhere with me. I stayed at home to work so I could be with him. We were never apart. It's so merciless the separation. I feel like I can't survive the pain of being without him. He was my life, my whole world.
