Personality Disorders Support Group
Personality disorders form a class of mental disorders that are characterized by long-lasting rigid patterns of thought and behaviour. Personality disorders are seen by the American Psychiatric Association as an enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectations of the culture of the individual who exhibits it.
That pisses me off more than anything.
I truly wish people could experience what we go through. I think it would humble them.
Then the one of the therips told me if I wanted to kill my self that I was smart and I could find a way to do it right.
The NAMI organization has tons if not volumes on the stigma that people with PD suffer. I am sorry but I really believe this is a waste of your time and maybe your social worker just wants to keep you busy.
I work in the healthcare field - they know so much about BPD we have classes on how to "handle", "talk", "judge", "ignore", place limits and boundaries and get rid of people with BPD as fast as possible. There are more police called in the ER for people with BPD than any other disorder or disease. There are more "atlas" called when the medical staff have any indication that the person suffers from BPD and the person may not even be acting out.
Please try to find something much more pleasant to focus on - they receive these papers and throw them away.
I have a professional who is a friend that works at NAMI and they joke about all the sufferers sending in their side of the story. They do not read them either.
Sorry for the bad news but I just wanted to protect you from the hurt that will come by submitting this paper.
There are two ways to really kill yourself is to move to the States of Washington and Oregon and get a doctor to write a note saying you have a terminal illness and then do the "Assisted suicide" "death by dignity". This is the 100% effective way of ending your life.
The other way is to et the textbook that Marsha Lineham wrote and look at the bad pages and she specifically gives you all the information on the most effective ways of taking your life. It is funny because I do not thing she intended for us to read the book but like the social worker told you - you are smart and now I have given a smart person the resources she needs. Good luck.
I also see where dancing is coming from because that is the reality.
My expereience trying to get help from the "professionals' has been brutal, only one doc helped me.
But he was in private preactise and actually he helped me, but told me tha BPD can not be cured...
However we could learn to cope with the symptoms....
But the NAMI people i saw where bad, another wench i paid 120 was brutal to me without even knowing me at all just on my dx of BPD alone.
Another doc assigned this idiot therapist to me, he also did not know me from adam. But whne the head doctor left the room, he told me i "I don't want to work with you beacuse you have BPD....."
But the asshole did not tell the head doc, he's boss riight??
People are still very ignorant about BPD.Thye do not how to not makes worse, so they just make us worse not better and they they blame it on us.
We can help each other, but we're all adults and some of us have tried just about everything.....
We are all entitled to our opinion.
