Personality Disorders Support Group
Personality disorders form a class of mental disorders that are characterized by long-lasting rigid patterns of thought and behaviour. Personality disorders are seen by the American Psychiatric Association as an enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectations of the culture of the individual who exhibits it.
My husband did the same thing. He was on Paxil for years and it worked, but then it didn't. When it stopped working he finally reached a point where he realized he had troubles at home and at work. He started Lexapro and the most wonderful man walked in my house.
Lexapro and some of my meds. have saved my marriage and helped us through life. I understand wanting to be natural though. Dr. Oz often has natural supplements and foods to help with mood and so on.
I completely understand your desire to not be dependent on meds but if the Wellbutrin isn't working for you any more one of SSRI's might help as a temporary measure until you can get your life reorganized to make time for meditation and proper nutrition, etc.
There is an exercise called an eco-gram where you draw out on paper the energy flow of your life. It can be helpful in finding out where you need to make changes to reduce stress. If you (or anyone) wants more info on that, feel free to message me.
I hope you find what works for you.
I am trying DBT, exercise, and natural substances.
Sometimes you need MEDICATIONS and you have to find the ones that work.
Eventhough I am told exercise helps... It cannot help me because :
1) When I am depressed, going for a walk is the last thing on my mind and telling someone to walk for a walk to cure depression is like telling someone in a wheel chair to just get up and walk.
and
2) I am no longer young/slim or fit enough to do alot of exercise due to other health problems.
I just came home from a walk because I'm not depressed now but I'll ache later and have to take a pill.
If you can get a good psychiatrist they will try different medication BUT my therapist/psychologist helps me so much more.
I hope you find some help.
