I have never been officially diagnosed with anything but I know I have a lot of the symptoms of BPD although I like to think I have got more stable with age however I recently started seeing this guy (having not been in a relationship for a long time) and I'm really struggling at first I thought that I had improved, in some ways he has been quite forward which would really have put me off in the past but I seem to be taking it ok and if I didn't hear from him for a while that was fine I really believed that I didn't care what happened and was trying to figure out if that was the new improved me or if it was a sign that i wasn't letting him in but now I feel like the madness is kicking in againand I'mafraid I am going to mess things up again I've had 3 serious relationships in the past the first was fine but the last 2 followed a similar pattern I would start off being really distant and then change to being really clingy and angry at them for not caring enough I'm not sure if my 'abandonment fears' were me being unreasonable or if I just pick the wrong guys. This lastest guy certainly has some of the same characteristics as the last one and I'm scared that things will go down the wrong path but I don't know if the problem is me or the people I choose! Help!

Probably both you and them.But that is my guess i resent when people try to make BPDs to blame for everything, i never met a BPD who was not abused as a child or who doesn't come from very invalidating environments.
You could get a Dx, although i got two,one said i was and the other i wasn't, and another said i was BP, every doc has told me something different.
I guess I wonder about my part in it (although I would love to blame them!) because the pattern seems to be repeating itself and I don't want this to go on forever!
