Wow- from no meds to FOUR??? Is your therapist making money on these prescriptions???

I don't see how it's good to put you on so many at once. I personally would take ONE for a month, then see how I am, then move onto another... If you have a bad reaction, how can you narrow it down to which one is causing which side effect.

I'd be REALLY careful. Get a second opinion. Go to a pharmacist and ask before you get the script filled. Read. But be careful about reading too much, because it can also play mind games.

What was the reason for all of these at once? How long have you been under the care of this person?

I'm worried for you.

It sounds like your doc doesn't have a clue as to what's REALLY going on with you, so she/he's using these meds as an experiment.

Sometimes, taking the wrong meds/dosage can cause suicidal thoughts!

If you've NOT been on meds for a certain amount of time, I don't see the emergency to rush into this. Research first.

I agree with the other posts. I would get a second opinion. I liked the "on the verge of being schizo" Like being "a little pregnant" unless you have had (an extremely expensive) brain scan, there's no way to really tell unless you are and they can tell early, you may be genetically predisposed to it, but it should not be assumed. Also what are the doses? I actually do think all four could be used at once, but what exactly is your medical diagnosis? Second opinion please!

i had my first appt with my pdoc yday and i was hoping she would put me on some med. She said she thinks i have BPD and wants to to get into an outpatient program and said they would put me on meds after observng me. I know it will take longer for me to get into a program, but she did not prescribe me anything even after me asking her 3 times to put me on meds. So i'm not sure how this might me relevent to u, but i felt like sharing. I was on antidepressants a year ago and stopped taking them against my therapists advise since i was gaining weight on those meds.

The most outstanding medication for mood disorders in my experience has been depakote. Depakote cuts out the highs (yes, I miss them), but without the highs you don't have lows. I could still feel great from a piece of music or the like, but, in general, my life is moderate. And that's all I ever could have asked for. I'm not high, I'm not low, I'm content with life on depakote. Ah, and I take the minimum does of lamictal with it. The two go hand in hand.

When you say anti-psychotic and schizophrenia, does that mean that the doctor has proscribed geodon?

you either are schizophrenic or you're not. This is a condition that is lifelong and starts in childhood. You don't suddenly turn "schizo". Screw this doctor. Putting you on 4 meds at once?! I would NEVER take that many at once. You won't have a clue what is affecting you and what isn't. What being good for you and what isn't. OMG> Please run from this doc as fast as you can. I started one med today, Lexapro 5mg and I am already feeling weird on it so I can't imagine taking 4 at once. I wouldn't know what was doing what.
