Personality Disorders Support Group
Personality disorders form a class of mental disorders that are characterized by long-lasting rigid patterns of thought and behaviour. Personality disorders are seen by the American Psychiatric Association as an enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectations of the culture of the individual who exhibits it.
I've been told to stay away from self help books as they only make the problem worse.
My sister in law freaked a bit when she found out I had BPD. Also, I told a colleague at work about it, and she said that she'd be so embarrassed to tell people that and how it would make it hard to get a job cuz she says that stuff stays on your permanant record. I was so angry and disgusted by her. First off, there's nothing embarrassing about it. At least, I don't think so. And at least I'm getting help. Secondly, no job will know I have BPD unless I choose to tell them.

Very common for those not informed to just believe us "quirky" or worse. Very common for uninformed to not know the difference shown in brain scans between "normal" (used lightly) and us BPDs.
1. The Borderline Personality Disorder Survival Guide by Alexander Chapman and Kim Grantz
2. The Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Workbook by Matthew McKay, Jeffrey Wood, and Jeffrey Brantley.
The first book will educate you about the disorder and give advice for how to live with it. The second book is a self-help boof for teaching yourself skills taught in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). If you can get into a DBT program, that would be even better.
