Personality disorders are seen by the American Psychiatric Association as an enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectations of the culture of the individual who exhibits it.

Hello,
I am new here.
I had a therapist tell me when I was 14 that I was a "borderline" but I never took it seriously and didn't even know what that meant. Now that I am 22, the symptoms of borderline are taking over my life and ruining my relationship, once again. I had another therapist give me a test when I was 19 and she said "shows you do have symptoms of Borderline" but I was never OFFICIALLY diagnosed. However, I have done my own research and I meet every criteria for diagnosis. Every time I bring it up to a psychiatrist they just brush it off and say "you are not one of those, do not jump to conclusions" But they do not know me! I am starting to become very frustrated with yet another therapist because they refuse to listen to me that I am showing symptoms of Borderline. How do I go about this?
I need to be treated and desperately want to try DBT, but without the proper help, I feel like these symptoms may get out of control again :/
Thank you!

Have you tried going to a mental health center for an assessment? Oftentimes, they will listen more than a therapist, and give the correct dianosis. Once you have the right diagnosis then a therapist will treat you, no matter where the diagnosis came from.

I'm "one of those" & say that it's nothing to be ashamed of. It does sound like you need to be properly diagnosed in order to really know what you have so you could treat it. I say talk to a psychatrist because there the ones that are able to diagnose you & prescribe you medication once you know what you have. Good luck.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
