It is common for people with BPD to have trouble trusting people and feeling paranoid.
The best help is therapy. Dialectical behavioral therapy (DPT) is one of the best treatments if you can get it, but pretty much any psychotherapy you can get would helpful. Medications are also helpful, but work best when taken together with therapy. Meditation and mindfulness are also helpful. You can learn a lot more about treatments by reading discussions on here.
check out that link, it's got heaps of helpful info, that helped me understand what it was and how it affected me.
Lack of identify or sense of self
Emptiness
Intense reactions initially when something upsets me
and when I get really bad depersonalization...the world feels like a movie and everything and everyone feels unreal.
Not having anyone that understands this BPD just makes things worse,as I swear some family members think Im attention seeking, when thats the very last thing I want.
I was not aware there was any treatment,so will look into this more.
When you feel let down by so many its hard to trust anyone,so it tends to go in a vicious cycle
But do recognize alot of things in me that I thought were part and parcel of depression, but clearly not.......
Half the time I know it is me telling myself Im no good, trying to reach that pinnacle of perfection that really cannot happen.
I wish I knew a way to be more positive, but guess on a good day I can be,but like most who suffer BPD,its all the niggly problems that beat us up so much.
What medications are there for this condition?
Im on prozac anyway for depression and agoraphobia,so am intrigued as to if there is actually anything that would help.
Lots of us are on mood stabilisers and they work somewhat. Alot of people with BPD can't take anti depressants cos they have the opposite effect. I found that to be true, i bought it up with my pdoc and she said the same.
DBT thera[y is what works even though it is so hard it's not funny.
But thanks for the advice,it certainly clears things up better.
