I am attached to my children. I cannot leave them with anyone until school age.I can even have problems leaving them with their dad to use a public bathroom. This isnt down to trust its a painful anxiety.
Were you attached to any adult when you were young? I ask as i had no attached relationships as a child and so seem to have an iron grip on my hubby and kids now.

Wow! Unhappylady, you struck a chord with me. I was attached to my mother as a very young child. So, her doctor told her to go to work and separate from me. She stopped working when I left for college. I didn't even consider attachment issues. I have recently been diagnosed with BPD and PTSD, but didn't have a clue why!!
I need to think about what all of this means now...

lessthan3, when your mum went to work to seperate from you how did you cope? Also was she attached to you in the same way?

I don't remember her being attached to me. What I do remember is her complaining, saying that she had to pretend to have to use the bathroom in order to get away from me for 5 minutes. I've never really thought about how screwed up that kind of is.

Being a mother i can understand the need for five minutes peace lol!
Are you close to her now?
Tabby have you always had this problems with needing friends in such an attached way?
I dont remember a time when i wasnt like this
