Personality disorders are seen by the American Psychiatric Association as an enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectations of the culture of the individual who exhibits it.
I am taking another session of DBT. They offer three month sessions every three months were I live. I have taken two sessions and they help a lot, but I am excited about starting a new three month session next week.
I am also constantly adjusting my medication. The one time I felt the best, I had a negative reaction with one of the medicines and I was back to the drawing board.
Good luck!
I personally have Borderline, Depression, and an Eating Disorder. I self-injury and have attempted too many times. I have a therapist and psychiatrist. I've used SO MANY different meds in the past two years. It's ridiculous.
Personally I'm going to get into art therapy which will feel more like a hobby than actual therapy. I'm tired of dealing with the regular doctor. It's getting old and has proven to be ineffective so to me it doesn't have much credibllity.
