A peptic ulcer is an ulcer of one of those areas of the gastrointestinal tract that are usually acidic. Most ulcers are now known to be associated with Helicobacter pylori, a spiral-shaped bacterium that lives in the acidic environment of the stomach. About 4 % of gastric ulcers are caused by a malignant tumor, which is one reason to be vigilant in their detection.
Hi I'm new here. Anyhow I have a question regarding a bad body odor I have had for about 4 years. IT is like a urine ammonia type body odor and it is bad I mean people can't tolerate it. When it first started I thought maybe I had kidney or liver problems I went and seen 2 different doctors about 3 years ago to get my blood checked for the possible culprit to my bo problem and both labs came out normal; so I was happy for the postive news but at the same time still confused as to why I had this bo problem. Let me explain when the bo first started it was more like a poop smell I know that sounds gross but it is the truth and now it is more like a urine ammonia smell so I'm lost as to what is causing it. I am 29 yrs old I seem to be in good health still I eat good, energetic etc. The reason I'm here is becuase I've read that Helicobacter can cause an ammonia bo sometimes and want to know if any of you have had this issue and how you got rid of it if you were able to. This bo has made my life hard and the only thing I can think of that could be causing this is Helicobacter since everything else seems to be fine with me and I'm almost sure the doctors didn't check me for Helicobacter since that is a seperate test they do I think upon request of the person. i don't know anything personally about this, but have known people who smelled this way, including my mother. did a little googling just now (i was concerned that because i have h. pylori, i might have developed a smell and just couldn't tell because i have reduced sense of smell after a bad cold many years ago). anyway, seems an ammonia smell is surprisingly common with intestinal problems. here is a link to a forum specifically about body odors, where the person asks a question similar to yours. about 3 or 4 answers down, a woman named maria gives a very detailed and possibly helpful answer. http://bodyodorsupport.com/showthread.php?p=10359 hope this helps :)

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
