I find life with PD is a vast learning curve, if PD wasn't enough to cope with, I/we have to deal with peoples general ignorance...though I know there are much worse illnessess...but...hey who's competing? certainly not me...that just isn't me... people see that at the moment or time they see you and you seem to be coping well that they poo poo it and think in some bizarre way that PD ain't as bad as they've been lead to believe.
PD, like sooo many other chronic illnessess and more so terminal illnessess take so much out of the sufferer on a daily basis, and we all develope coping stratagies to get by.... that so called relatively healthy people simply can't or just simply comprehend what we go through... until unfortunately they get ill some way down the line, then it's a different story...then at such a time...they may just think back with regrets.
Sorry guys....I'm ranting....lol
Yours Sincerely Dirk !!;O))x
I have had a recent divorce after 34 years marriage, I have lived with the fact for many years, that my oldest son may have inherited a terminal illness from my first husband. Now he is in the first stages and is yet unaware. My one desire was to live long enough to see him through it. Then suddenly I get told I most probably have Parkinsons.
It hits me every now and then and I could sit and weep. But I battle on. I do occasionally wonder why me? But then why does my son have this awful disease that will also take away his ability to care for himself, to talk, to play his guitar, write his music and walk in the mountains. How can I feel sorry for myself?
Life can deal us some bad cards sometimes, but then we must try hard to look at the tough times others have.
We are none of us alone in this, we all have our bad days, sad days and wonder why me days,
We share our happiness with each other, and it becomes greater;
We share our troubles with each other and they become smaller.
We share one anothers burdens, and their weight becomes possible to bear.
Hugs
